Preparing Servants for the Church in Ethiopia and Beyond

June 16, 2016

Commencement 2016

Graduates of 2016 and ETC Faculty

The 4th of June was a great day of joy and celebration at the ETC, as  79 graduates acknowledged God’s goodness in bringing them to this milestone in their life.  This time was bittersweet to the graduates as they said their goodbyes to their friends, staff and faculty but also looked forward to the future.  The graduates will go back to their sending churches to serve in different areas of ministry for which ETC has equipped them.

This year there were 50 students who graduated from the undergraduate program majoring in Pastoral Ministry, Church Leadership, Christian Education, Academic Ministry, Counseling, Community Development and Missions. There also were 29 who graduated from the Master of Arts in Holistic Child Development and Educational Leadership programs.

Commencement Speaker – Dr. Barry Corey, President of Biola University

Dr. Barry Corey, President of Biola University, spoke to the graduates at the commencement, encouraging them to believe with commitment and with courage, based on John 11.   At the conclusion of the ceremony Ato Mamo Gebremeskel, ETC Board chairman, charged the graduates based on 2 Timothy 2:1-2 and 2 Timothy 4:1-2.

At the conclusion of the ceremony graduates celebrated God’s goodness with their friends, family, church leaders and supporters.  ETC rejoices in the fact that it had a part in the preparation of these men and women for vocational and non vocational ministry in the church here in Ethiopia and beyond.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who is the Lord of the harvest.
