Two New Graduate Programs Launching in 2026
This year brings a significant milestone in ETC’s history. We are proud to announce the launch of two new graduate-level programs, designed to meet the growing need for theologically grounded scholars and educators in Ethiopia and beyond.

Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Studies (PhD)
This doctoral program is designed to prepare scholar-practitioners for leadership in the local church and in higher-level theological institutions. Graduates will be equipped for roles in educational administration, curriculum development, research, and publication.
The program is 52 credit hours and is offered in a hybrid format, combining the flexibility of online learning with regular face-to-face sessions. This makes it accessible to working professionals and international learners alike. Students may pursue a general Educational Studies degree or choose a specialty in either Curriculum Studies or Educational Leadership.
Admission requirements include an accredited Master’s degree (minimum GPA 3.0), academic and church references, English proficiency, and a writing sample.
Master of Theology in Biblical and Theological Studies (ThMBTS)
The ThMBTS is a 27-credit-hour research program designed for men and women who wish to engage Scripture and theology at an advanced level. Integrating rigorous academic study with spiritual formation, the program equips graduates to teach, write, and lead within the church and in higher educational institutions.
Students may specialise in Old Testament, New Testament, or Systematic Theology. The program can be completed in one year for full-time students or two years for part-time students, with modular course delivery and regular supervision meetings to support research progress.
Admission requirements include an accredited Master’s degree in Biblical or Theological Studies, academic and church references, competence in a biblical language (Hebrew or Greek), and demonstrated ministry experience.
